Good evening!
We really wanted to talk about Peseshet because she is recognized as the oldest woman doctor and physicist in the history of mankind.
In fact, an Egyptologist discovered near the pyramids of Giza her body in a tomb of the Old Kingdom, there was a stele dating back to – 2700 mentioning the term « Supervisor of the Doctors ». No other ancient civilization mentions a female doctor. Peseshet was a female doctor and she was leading female « doctoresses », moreover, she took care of the women of the court and the family of Pharaoh. Peseshet was also director of priestesses.
In ancient Africa, the difference of skills or salary between men and women did not exist and many women were recognized in physics, mathematics, architecture and medicine. Pharaonic African society was giving an important place and freedom to the women. It was a matriarchal society where women were mothers, wives, goddesses and sisters.
And it’s the end of our profils serie, we had fun this week searching informations about those women, let us know if you liked it and if you would us to start a new one 1 profil a day!
