Hey everyone!

Last week was the international women’s Day and I (Flora) remembered a comic book I red 2 years ago which match perfectly with this occasion.

So let’s talk about comics today! Two years ago, I discovered the talented french author Penelope Bagieu who wrote two comics called « Les culottées ». Each book is made of around 10 biographys about a girl or woman who have been forgotten or who is not known yet. During their life, they have broken rules or normes, faced sexism, invented something and changed in their own way the world. I know the theme of our blog is womans in science and you have scientists in her book but also other amazing women. She writes about their history with a big H but also their daily life.

At first one biography was published on « Le Monde » every Monday and they immediatly received a big success. No doubts it’s well derserved. The draw is original, topics are really actual, she is engaged, sincere and she have a way with words. BOOM, Gallimard gave her a shot, she published two books « Les culottées 1 » and « Les culottées 2 ».
